In the late 1990 gave the floor Municipal Schools Sports. All those people who have joined their organization had a clear stake in the marriage of sport and culture. For a time, City Schools Cup were managed by the ANPA Faxarda, always with an open mind to all the people, not limited only to the CEIP Gregorio Sanz. Over the years, this seed gave its fruit. In football, after a considerable increase in demand by parents and mothers, ended up being the Society Sports Ribadeo, the one that now manages the Municipal Schools Cup.

So in 2000, and from the activity developed in the Municipal Schools Cup, several mothers and fathers have implemented a project that would culminate in SD Ribadeo. The goal was not one that promotes the practice of sports, particularly football, as well as spreading the education of the athlete among the young. A girl and kids who want to be cool and smart for the next day to attend a meeting of football (or any other sport) autocontrolarse and are able to hold their acts.

We are also aware that the important thing is the eagerness to overcome personal, the ability to sacrifice, and willingness to enjoy a healthy life, that everything will be forwarded to the competition pure and simple and the obsession to win. Although it seems a topic: the important thing is to participate in the process, see how to put effort and illusion conséguense things. Currently the SD Ribadeo 2007-2008 season is in charge of training 160 young girls in various categories ranging from infant to miniprebenxamin (children 4 years).

As an event to highlight the SD Ribadeo organizing a football tournament base in the middle of June participating in football clubs based on a broad geographical scope this year to reach its fourth edition.
In season 2008/2009 the SD Ribadeo to extend its offering with a sports section of judo.
