San Juan of Ove belongs to archpriesty of Ribadeo and the 430 inhabitants and 1991 yielded an average of 27 inhabitants per Km2.
Occupies the entire east-central sector of the council of Ribadeo. Therein lies the famous hill of Santa Cruz, home of the tour tribute to Gaita declared of tourist interest.
In the northeast it borders Ribadeo, which absorbed part of the parish, to the northwest Piñeira and by the south the Grande river borders Vilaosende in good part, and by the east is the Ria of Ribadeo.
It has an area of 13.75 square kilometers, where they settled 26 villages: Garitos, Covo, Chao, Igrexa, Palmeira, As Aceas, Acevedo, Pastoriza, Graña, Casas Novas, Guildeiros, Frieira Nova, Frieira Vella, Reme, A Pega , Xardín, San Lázaro, Santa Cruz, Xeixadelo, Valín.
