We have very little information on the prehistory of the region. Only a few forts and mummies arrive until today as a document of this era. We can find castros in Vilaselán, A Devesa (here is a beach with that name by the abundance of which were found restro) Vilaosende, As Anzas and Arante.

The mummies are found in Mondigo. Although the findings did not have much importance, if we speak of a stable settlement, to find the remains of rubbl that lead us to believe in the existence of houses with walls of masonry. Currently, this is changing with the site of Louselas.

Castros Galician

The Castros are most characteristic of the Celtic civilization. These settlements were ever built at that time, in reflection of difficult access, the safety of its inhabitants. The dimensions of a fort varying between 20 and 500 meters in diameter.
More or less, its length is about 100 meters and can produce an oval plan or time.
Always stands the imposing defensive system, equipped with one or more lines of walls surrounding the fort.

Rio de LOUSELAS

The important archaeological find of Louselas, situated in the parish of Vilaselán, is currently under evaluation.
